This is an easy find off of I-86 (NY route 17). Exit 59A, near distribution center for a major drug store chain.
Cache contains only a small log sheet. A dollar coin is there for first-to-find.
The twists & turns of the Chemung River make for great canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. This stretch of river is home to plenty of wildlife. Bald Eagles, Mergansers, & Red-Tailed Hawks have been seen here! A pavilion and rest rooms are the most recent additions.
Most of this location was underwater in the Flood of '72, which washed out numerous bridges including one at the east end of this road.
A few miles downriver the Chemung joins the Susquehanna and flows through PA and into the Chesapeake Bay.
