Geocache Description:

To note the discovery of Port Phillip Bay the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has erected a number of stones along the Esplanade in Mornington.
Visit them all and learn a little of the early history of Port Phillip Bay and its discovery.

This cache trail takes about an hour one way and is easily accessible by foot and pram on soft sand / rock paths. Some parts of the track are narrow and sandy but will be accessible to most strollers but not wheelchair sorry.

The trail consists of 9 Way Points locations and a bronze plaque that will guide you further, ending in Ground Zero and a nice large 2 Litre Systema container cache.

Bikes are not permitted on the track in certain sections but the road runs parallel to the road and the Geodogs are welcome. The walk is about 4.2klm long.

Please resist the urge to use your motor car!

Geocachers, please take care with the Geokids wandering off and near the cliff edge and roadway – Geokids, please take care of your Geoadults and keep them out of the popular adults watering holes on the way :-)

Thanks to the Scouts at 1st Mornington Scout Group for helping gathering the information and setting the clues and Okaydog and Skip2992 checking our numbers.
