Históricamente, la economía de Juncos giraba alrededor de la agricultura, especialmente el cultivo del tabaco y de la caña de azúcar (por lo menos, hasta fines de la década de 1960). La antigua Central Juncos, localizada en la salida hacia el municipio de Canóvanas por la carretera PR-185, dejó de operar en 1970.
