Geocache Description:

Blow Me Down - is this a secret beach?! This cache will `blow you' around the corner from the famous Blowholes, `down' to a spectacular beach that even many of the Albany locals don't know about!

Your rugged geocaching adventure starts at one of Albany's most popular coastal attractions, The Blowholes, which is an 800m walk from the carpark. The Torndirrup National Park coastline here is quite spectacular, especially in high seas, and you'll enjoy fine views of Peak Head (south-east), Eclipse Island (south-west), as well as granite outcrops, rugged sea cliffs, and crashing surf as you walk towards GZ. Signs will direct you to the Blowholes themselves, which are a crackline in the granite that `blows' air with an impressive sound, and occasionally shoots a visible spray high into the air. This spectacular natural attraction is best enjoyed on stormy days with rough seas (check the swell forecast here), but the surf and rugged coastline at this location is inspiring even on a calm day.

But your mission isn't done just yet. You'll need to walk a little further past the Blowholes until you come across a small wooden boardwalk that's signed "Surfers Access Risk Area". Did I mention that this is not a walk for the faint of heart? Be very careful, because the coastline here is dangerous! Now you're on your own - the path should take you to the cache, which is hidden just around the corner from the Blowholes, at a lovely little beach. Many Albany locals I've talked to don't even know that this beach exists! The powerful surf pounding on the coastline rocks is extremely impressive, and yet occasionally you'll see surfers braving the large swell and crashing waves in the middle of this small bay. From near GZ, you can sit and enjoy watching the surf crash on the rocks, before making the 20 minute trek back uphill to the car-park.

To reward you for making the trip here, we've tried to make the cache not too hard to find - no bush bashing is required, it's about a meter off a small goat track near GZ. The cache is a 1 litre clear plastic rectangular sistema container, and has room for the log book, some trackables, and swag.
