Geocache Description:

Physical location of the final is at an important historical site in the West Mt. Airy/Germantown area. We recommend driving from listed coordinates to final as it is a bit of a hike and there is ample parking at both locations!

Solving this cache will require use of Wikipedia as well as the identification of some numbers found around the listed coordinates! Enjoy!

Posted coordinates will take you to the Tulpehocken Train station. This station stop was built in 1878 and functioned for 100 years before it was abandoned by SEPTA in 1978. Beginning in 2007 the West Central Germantown Neighbors formed a committee, raised and received funds and restoration began on this dilapidated building.

In 2010 when Lusophile created this Mystery Cache he used numbers that were found on some large construction dumpsters. Since then renovations have been completed and these were all removed!

Final is at N 40° 02.CBA W 075° 11.DEF

1.) The first number you must find is a 4 digit number inscribed on the platform. You will know you have it if the second digit is an 8! Call this Ω.

Next find the number of games which Connie Mack managed during his very lengthy career. This is Φ.

Finally find the number of losses the Philadelphia Athletics suffered under his command. This is Χ.

A is the second digit of the difference Φ - X - Ω

2.) Parking unlawfully at the Tulpehocken station could be a mistake! Find a three digit number that indicates the tow cost for a car. This is Ψ. Once they have taken your car, you will further be charged a two digit storage fee. This is Σ.

The solution to this equation: B = (Ψ – Σ) / 10

3.) Now you want your car back! In the tow company's telephone number there is a digit that is repeated three times.

This is C.

4.) There is a number coupled with a letter that is on a metal surface that is elevated well of the ground. You will know that you have located the correct number if the letter you find with it is the third to last letter in Cornelius' primary baseball position as a player. This is ϋ

How old was Connie Mack when he passed away? This is ω

D is equal to the sum of the digits of the solution to ω -ϋ

5.) The next number you need is also elevated and is a 4 digit number made up of only two unique digits. You will know you have found them if they are all even!

E is difference between the larger number and the smaller number.

6.) “The Tall Tactician” as Connie Mack was known as favored players who were self-directed, self-disciplined, and self-motivated. With them he led his teams to many World Series’ and enjoyed great success. How many World Series did he lead teams too? This is Ђ

How many of these did he emerge victorious? This is Џ

F is the difference of Ђ - Џ
