Tomb Kirke Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

[NOR]

[ENG]
Tomb Church is listed in the timber and is from 1869.

Størelese: ((NANO))

[NOR]

The church is located next to the beautiful oak grove at the Tomb Agricultural School, the former Tomb Manor. We expect that there was a church at the Tomb Manor already at the end of the 1300s. The church was located on the present church in 1680. Tomb church was restored to the 100-year anniversary in 1969. In 1979, the extended porch with room for handicap lift, a cloakroom and "baptism sacristy. The altarpiece from 1638 is carried out by Knud Billedsmider, the same artist who created the altarpiece in Råde Church the same year. The large altar picture was painted by Thomas Blix. The two angels on either side of altarpieces in Advise and Tomb has at times created discussions. This is because the artist has chosen to give the Angels in Råde church clothes - in contrast to the angels tomb church that is naked. The font is from 1682 and is carved from a eikestamme. The church has two altars tracing of brass from 1688, as well as salts and lime sticker box from ca.1700. In the tower is the old church bell from 1702. This is currently not in use.
