Environmental CITO at The Naples Preserve: Saturday December 11th from 9 AM to Noon.
The Lag Pins recently went out to enjoy one of their favorite caches in Naples, Son of Ape, when they met up with one of the volunteers for The Naples Preserve. Upon talking about the area, she had mentioned the need for help in the area to expand and clear the area for restoration purposes......I was happy to help.
Join the Lag Pins and your fellow geocachers in helping The Naples Preserve in an area restoration project. We will be helping removing invasive plants in the area and expanding the room for their local wildlife to live in, along with removing any found trash. Some of the volunteers from the organization will be on hand to direct us to the areas they need help in.
This CITO will begin at 9 AM and end at Noon. Some tools will be provided by the Preserve, but this is the list of requested items to bring: Gloves, Long Pants, Proper Shoes, Leaf Rakes, Clippers/Pruners, Garbage Cans, Garbage Bags, Shovels, Eye Protection and Sunscreen (Will update with more if needed). Please mention if you have extra's of items in your "Will Attend" logs so that we have a count on equipment. Water and breakfast will be provided by the Lag Pins.
While you are here, there are 3 geocaches in the Preserve for those who have not found them (2 traditionals and 1 earth cache) along with a few letterboxes for those who participate.
