Walk The Verplanck! Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

BriGuyNY: Checked on this one but it's missing again. The idea of this puzzle is good but I don't think I set it up in a way for others to really understand it; there were quite a few adjustments over time also. Not living here anymore, the significance as lessened but it's still a great spot to visit thanks to arprodeo's nearby multi that takes you on a full tour through this little town. Thanks to all who have enjoyed this cache over the past 2 years!

Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache for Verplanck!

Posted coordinates bring you precisely to my favorite lookout spot in town. I've spent many moments here watching life go by in timeless thought. This location has nothing to do with the cache so you don't need to go here unless you'd like to!

Now on to the puzzle, coded in a bit of a homage to Garvus & taxman417 if I do say so myself. They are both very crafty with their wording. Every line from here on out is a clue:

First of all, if you're going to bad-mouth this cache in Verplanck, just zip it and keep trying to decode for coordinates!
If you find you're heading towards Buchanan, subtract 22
If you find you're heading towards the river, subtract 90
Look at your compass
Look at your physical location
Look at your compass again
Well now that's weird! Maybe it will help with this next part?
236 boats have crashed on the Hudson due to bearing issues... I'm not sure of the validity on this, but hey, it could be true.
559 meters of square land is almost as large as Verplanck itself!

Yup, that's it for the clues! The final is in a very high muggle area so have a seat and look like you're enjoying the view before making the grab.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com (with a fuzzy solution of +/- 0.005).

Congrats on a persistant FTF: Mr. Walleye!
