Delsom Estates Traditional Cache

This cache is placed here as another of my... 'I remember', mini series in North Delta.
Remember when 84th Ave. continued through this section of Delsom Estates, down to River Road, by way of Centre St.??
It is so named for the former landowner, Dennis Elsom.
We used to live very nearby and my son and I enjoyed bike riding in here, down to the man-made 'lake'.
The area to the west of the traffic circle is presently becoming a park around the 'lake'. We had to sneak into this area, as it was an operating gravel pit from the 1950s to late 1970s, and was considered a dangerous area.
84th Ave. was terminated here and the new access to the new Alex Fraser Bridge was built....called Nordel Way, which cut right through 84th Ave.
This area is continuing to undergo tremendous changes...with several houses, townhouses and condos presently under construction just west of this location.
If only you could have been a Fly on the wall, when these decisions were made...a small $ investment back then, would now be enough for an early retirement.
Good luck, and you may have to use some stealth from watching eyes in the new condos .....you may also have to walk a block or 2 to the cache.
There is one parking spot at the north side of the tiny park....it says authorized vehicle only, but I have never seen it used. I park there for cache maintenance.
Push and turn the cap to open, (child proof).
Please return as found, with the li'l 'thing', sitting on TOP of the container, some local muggle traffic very close to cache, which will increase when the new condos are built....use stealth, thank you. No need to disturb the enviroment and just a small amount of bushwacking is necessary. Cache is close to trail.
Note* if heading west on 84th Ave, left turn ok at the light,....there is no left turn into the area of GZ just down the hill. Be warned.
