A Rác fürdo története:
Egyes feltételezések szerint a fürdo a 15. században, Zsigmond király uralkodása alatt épült, mások Mátyás király nevéhez kapcsolják, de mára bebizonyosodott, hogy a fürdo török eredetu.
Nyolcszögletu kupolacsarnoka a 16. századból, török hódoltság idejébol származik; akkoriban a kisebb fürdok közé tartozott. Buda visszavételét sértetlenül vészelte át. Ezt követoen elobb a császári kamara tulajdonába került, majd az 1860-as években a Heinrich családhoz, akik Ybl Miklós tervei alapján 1864-1865 között felújíttatták, majd 1869-1870 között kibovíttették, ekkor épültek romantikus stílusú medencéi.
1890-ben az Ördög-árok lefedése és a Tabán alsó részének feltöltése miatt háromszintesbol kétszintessé alakították át. 1931-ben Szent Imre hercegrol nevezték el, halálának 900. évfordulója alkalmából. 1935-ben Budapest székesfováros vásárolta meg.
A II. világháború súlyos károkat okozott az épületegyüttesben. 1963-ig ideiglenes felújítással muködött, majd felújítás céljából két évre bezárták, és 1965-ben nyitották meg újra. A felújítás során több megmaradt, de sérült épületrészt elbontottak.
A Rác gyógyfürdo a 2010-re megépített Rácz Hotel & Thermal Spa komplexum részeként született újjá. Ez a történelmi fürdoegyüttes egy modern Termál és Day Spa-t alkot. A fürdoben 13 medence, 21 kezelo, szaunák széles választéka, pihenoterek, tetotéri napozóterasz és egy elkülönített VIP szekció is található.

A fürdo részei

A Rác fürdo legrégebbi része. A török kupola 1572-ben épült melyet anno Kücsük Ilica-nak, vagyis kis fürdonek neveztek. Ezen fürdorész kiváló állapotban maradt fenn az évszázadok során, így teljes mértékben eredeti formájában születhetett újjá. A falak, boltívek és ablaknyílások is fennmaradtak, ám ezeken túl a medencetér lépcsoi is elokerültek a feltárások során. Ennek megfeleloen a török fürdorész régi pompájában áll, és használható csakúgy, mint elodeink idejében. A nagy medencetér mellett elhelyezkedo kisebb kupola 1905-ben került lebontásra, mely a mostani feltárások leletei alapján szintén újraépült.
-Ybl fürdo és tusolócsarnok:
A Rác fürdo romantikus és neoreneszánsz részei Ybl Miklós munkáját dicsérik, melyek két fázisban, 1865-ben és 1870-ben készültek el. Az Ybl kupola és tusolócsarnok romantikus, csipkés boltíveinek mindössze 30-40 százaléka maradt fenn a 20. század során elszenvedett pusztulásokat követoen. A teljes 19. századi fürdoterület (Ybl kupola, tusolócsarnok, Flóra fürdo, neoreneszánsz kupola) korabeli rézkarcok, leírások, rajzok, késobbi bontási dokumentumok, illetve a jelen feltárások leletei alapján épült fel, teljes mértékben tükrözve eredeti állapotát.
Az 1870-ben épült neoreneszánsz kupola jelentos változásokat mutat az építész perspektívájában. A márvány jelenik meg, mint fo díszítoelem, és a kor modernitásainak jelképeit dombormuvek elhelyezésével ábrázolja Ybl. Ilyenek a nyugati és Keleti falon található, a vasutat és a szikrapostát jelképezo alkotások. Ezen épületrészt az Erzsébet híd építésekor teljesen lebontották, melynek alapveto építészettörténeti információkat nyújtó maradványait a betemetett medencetérbol tárták fel a jelen építkezés során.
-Flóra fürdo
A Flóra fürdo, mely szintén 1865-ben épült, az ókori római fürdok stílusát idézi vissza. Ezen fürdorész a komplexum elkülönített VIP részlegeként szolgál.
-Modern Day Spa
Közvetlenül a történelmi rész köré épült a fürdo legújabb, modern területe, mely magában foglalja a szaunavilágot, a pihenotereket és a 20 kezelovel ellátott Day Spa-t.

Vízösszetétel:
A Rác fürdo karsztvizének számos pozitív hatása ismert. A közvetlenül a törökfürdo alatt feltöro víz tartalmaz kalciumot, magnéziumot, hidrogén-karbonátot, szulfát-kloridot, illetve sodium- és fluorid-iont is. A víz a fürdoben nyújtott kezelésekkel és szolgáltatásokkal együtt hatásosnak bizonyul ízületi bántalmak, gerincmegbetegedések, porckorong sérülések, keringési zavarok, illetve asztmás megbetegedések kezelésére.
A fürdoben 13 medence található. A medencék vízhofokai: 14 °C, 36 °C, 38 °C, 42 °C.


The Rácz Thermal Bath
Is located in Budapest, Hungary, is an 8000 sqm bath and is renowned for its Turkish Bath dating back to the 16th century and also its Imperial pools and Shower Corridor built in the age of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The bath is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage edifice and is now part of the newly built complex of the Rácz Hotel Thermal Spa, wich is a modern luxury Thermal and Day Spa of 8000 sqm including 11 pools, relaxation areas, saunas such as a Finish Sauna, sunbathing terrace, 21 treatment rooms offering the very latest and traditional therapies, cosmetic rooms for special beauty treatments and a hairdressing salon.
The Spa also offers a dedicated VIP section.

The main parts of the Rác bath:

-The Turkish Bath:
The oldest part of the Rácz Bath is the Turkish Cupola, built in 1572, which was called Kücsük Ilica (Small Thermal) at the time. This cupola remained in a very good state through the centuries and therefore could be authentically restored. The windows, reveals, kurnas (marble basins on the walls), the pool and the floor are still the original ones perfectly renovated to their authentic state thus it looks and can be used like back in the 16th Century. The side cupola adjacent to it was destroyed in 1905 which has also been restored according to its remains found by the archeologists.
- The Ybl Baths and Shower Corridor:
Is the most impressive part of the Rácz Bath was constructed and built by Miklós Ybl in two phases between 1865 and 1870. Approximately 30-40 per cent of the romantic Ybl Cupola and the famous Shower Corridor (1865) remained since it was subject to the bomb attacks of World War II, renovation in the 1960 and also in 2002. The rest of this area was rebuilt and restored to its exact original state according to old copper engravings, drawings and documentations. The second, Imperial Cupola, built in 1870, shows changes in the architect perspective. Marble is the main material used and several symbolic elements of the age’s modernity can be found on the walls. This part was completely destroyed during the construction of the Elizabeth Bridge however the pieces demolished were buried into the pool and later provided essential information for the current reconstruction.
- The Flora Bath:
This section of the Rácz Spa, also built in 1865, was styled after the ancient Roman Baths which now serves as a dedicated VIP section of the complex.
-Modern Day Spa:
Is the last part of the Bath was built adjacent to the historical buildings in the 21st century and accommodates the latest treatments and services with 21 treatment rooms, a business room and a special VIP area.

Water Content:
The many medical benefits of the Rácz Bath's karst water are well known. The water contains calcium, magnesium, hydrogen-carbonate, sulphate-chloride, sodium and fluoride ions. The water together with the services provided offer perfect recreation and further are beneficial for arthritis, spine illnesses, intervertebral disk pains, aortic stenosis, circulatory problems asthma and bronchitis. The complex has 11 pools. Water temperatures are 14 °C, 36 °C, 38 °C, and 42 °C.
