You are searching for a small bison tube in 4,321 acres of park. How hard could it be?
This cache is located in one of the more remote areas of False Cape State Park, Virginia's most remote state park.
Enjoy the trek to Monumental Micro. Whether you came the long way from Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge or the short way across the VA/NC state line, take in all that is offered at False Cape State Park. Dolphins in the waves, deer, bald eagles, osprey, foxes, feral pigs, otters and the occasional wild horse can be seen here as well as black rat snakes, green snakes, garter snakes and venomous cottonmouth water moccasins. Always come prepared with water, insect repellent and sunscreen. Access to False Cape State Park is obtained by hiking or bicycling through the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, by boating across the Back Bay or on the beach from the VA/NC border. Parking is available at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge visitor center or at the Little Island City Park. Fees and access hours for these parking areas vary with the seasons.
Be sure and visit the nearby boundary marker, just South of the cache. This is Monument 1 (benchmark FW1612), which was set in 1887, on the North Carolina - Virginia (NC-VA) line between Currituck County and Virginia Beach City. Enjoy your trip and visit the other geocaches in False Cape State Park on your way to this one.
The required permit for this cache has been approved by the Park Manager.
