Geocache Description:

Cache is an 4x7 lock and lock Rubbermaid container located one mile southwest of the town of Gans on the abandoned railroad grade that will someday be a Rails to Trails from Smithfield to the north of here and to Pt. Marion to the south.

Be advised that these coke ovens are on posted property, but are easily viewed from the trail.
If you choose to view them up close, you do so of your own responsibility.

Round trip hike for this cache is just over two miles. You will be following along an old abandoned railroad grade. It is a little rocky and overgrown in a few areas. The cache is located in an area just off the traill between two abandoned/removed bridges. You will need to cross a water hazard there at the first abandoned bridge to reach the cache. There is an easy way if you look around. Bushwacking will also be necessary, so be prepared for such.

Should be a fairly easy find once you find your way down there. Replace as found and rehide well.

Take some time and hike on down to the next abandoned bridge while your here, just a short ways there down the trail from the cache.

Posted land borders the whole length of the trail to the cache so you will need to park at the listed parking area in Gans.
