Geocache Description:

We were on a back way home from a visit to Manistee to witness the 'Big Blow' event of the past cupla daze from the leeward side of the big lake when we were blocked by a downed tree jes up the road from here. We had recently archived our cache 'Alluvial Fan' since the loggers had totally trashed the area, justa lil East of here. More below . . .

After photoing the tree across the road blocking our way home, we went back to where the hillbilly had noticed an NFS sign.

We had also noticed a 'guard rail' just west of the parking coords we'll provide for this cache, as said parking coords will be a much safer, off-road parking experience.

One of our mapping systems claims this 'crick' is named 'Sixteen Creek', hence the name of the cache. Now on GeoCaching's mapping system, we see their mapping system system claims it's 'Spaulding's Creek' This should be an interesting investigation, next stop, the USFS' quadrangles, or . . .

We know some folk who trace back to the original 'squatters', er, ahh, settlers who have third past ancestors in nearby cemetery plots who may be able to shed light on such local history and will ask, when opportunity presents itself in polite company.

G'nite,

Love a mystery!

We have varied cache, so this one is about the fun discovery of a neat spot, not about tricky hides.

There's evidence of active hunting VERY nearby this hide, so please peek about for CAMO'D sneaky hunters very nearby before snatching this otherwise easy cache, O.K.?

There's some 'spongy' ground in the area of this cache, so if you fear wet feet, dress them accordingly, wethinks . . .

Even the hillbilly swapped from the usual 'croks' to tennies before exploring this spot.

Best wishes for fun caching for the rest of the year,

and Happy Trails,

hh

From logs, looks like TnT smoked eRoX by a nose on the FTF, hope it dint hurt the marriage Tim, teehee . . .
