This cache can be found by taking a pleasant short stroll down the Gore Drain Trail, which is very level and nicely groomed. The cache is a few feet off the main trail & in the woods.
THE CACHE
The cache container is a cylindrical camo painted object, around a foot long. I have now (2012) removed the micro sized log container and added a secondary small log & swag container, which is attached to the original cache. When you are close to GZ, the best approach is from the south of it. You may notice a few rocks several feet to the west of the trail (seasonally they could be in deep grass or snow), maybe even a muggle trail, heading off trail towards GZ. The correct entrance to step through the trees, is marked by a tiny rock on each side at the base of the evergreens, and now in 2021 I have added 2 more small rocks on each side of the path close to the entrance (the trees have filled the space in)...once you have stepped through the trees, search on the east side of the "secret trail"...you will be mostly out of sight of any muggles who pass by on the groomed trail...if you reach a larger clearing, you have walked too far. FYI this cache has been hidden for over a decade, so the trees have grown, and the access point has closed in a lot, but I can still get to GZ easily.
PARKING AND A PORT-A-POTTY
There is a parking lot for hikers on the south side of the 4th concession, across from the trail access point, which happens to be at one end of the Rotary Way Trail, or there is a tiny space to park at the other access point, located on Hwy 21, near the corner of the CAW road.
During late spring and summer only, there is usually 1 SEASONAL PORT-A-POTTY beside the Gore Drain Trail sign on the N side of Con. 4, across from the parking lot.
ATTRACTION: child friendly...peaceful trail...novelty container...GZ on "secret trail"
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PEN...the pencils have been known to grow legs and escape!
CLOSE LID SECURELY TO KEEP THE RAIN OUT.
PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF WHERE YOU ARE RETRIEVING THE CACHE CONTAINER FROM, AND RETURN IT TO THE EXACT LOCATION TO PREVENT MIGRATION...IN THIS CASE, IT IS PERMANENTLY ATTACHED TO A LOOP @ GZ
