Gamma
Gamma, aka Gacrux aka gamma crucis is a giant red star about 88
light years away from us. So let's think about that: if you were
able to see the light from gamma it would have left the star in
1922, the first year that radio transmissions were starting to
become common on earth; and that was the year people in British
Columbia and New Brunswick started driving on the right side of the
road! Before that, they were driving in the style of mother
England, on the left.(source)
Gamma and Acrux are the two stars in the Southern Cross used for
navigation. From Gamma, you trace a line south to Acrux and
continue about 4.5 times that distance and you will be near the
celestial south pole.
The Cache
Gamma can be found 10 m off the main trail beside a game
trail.
