Kuninkaalliset pidot Knuutilassa Traditional Geocache

Knuutila oli kuninkaankartano 1500-luvulla ja Juhana herttua järjesti siellä kuninkaalliset pidot. Hämeenkyrön talonpoikia, kirkkoherraa ja nimismiestä vaadittiin toimittamaan kartanoon seuraavat tarvikkeet:

• 3 tynnyriä leipää

• 25 tynnyriä olutta

• 13 leiviskää voita

• 14 leiviskää läskiä

• 24 leiviskää lihaa

• 5 nuorta härkää

• 20 lammasta

• 2 hanhea

• 44 kanaa

• 1 nelikko herneitä

• ½ pannia ryynejä

• 3 leiviskää kuivaa kalaa

• 2 tynnyriä suolakalaa

• 4 leiviskää suolaa

• 85 kynttilää

• 30 [hevos]kuormaa heinää

Nykymitoille muunnettuna se olisi suunnilleen seuraavaa:

• 250 leipää

• 396 korillista olutta

• 220 pakettia voita

• 119 kg läskiä

• 204 kg lihaa

• 5 nuorta härkää

• 20 lammasta

• 2 hanhea

• 44 kanaa

• 110 litraa herneitä

• 41 litraa ryynejä

• 26 kg kuivaa kalaa

• 250 litraa suolakalaa

• 34 kg suolaa

• 85 kynttilää

• 6 [traktori]kuormaa heinää

1500-luvulta ei ole enää yhtään rakennusta jäljellä. Vanhin rakennus on kellari 1600-luvulta, joka on samalla myös koko Nokian vanhin rakennus. Kätkön vieressä on pikkupuro, joka on tainnut virrata paikalla jo ennen ensimmäistäkään asukasta. Kotiseutuyhdistys Siuro-Seura on hallinnut Nokian kaupungin omistamaa Knuutilaa vuodesta 1977 lähtien. Knuutila toimii nykyään juhla- ja kokoustilana ja siellä voi majoittua aittahotelliin.

Knuutila was a royal manor in 1500's. Duke John III of Sweden held there the royal feast. Hämeenkyrö peasants, the vicar and the sheriff were required to provide the following items for the Manor:

• 3 barrels of bread
• 25 barrels of beer
• 13 pounds of butter
• 14 pounds of fat
• 24 pounds of meat
• 5 young bulls
• 20 sheep
• 2 geese
• 44 chicken
• 1 fourth of a barrel of peas
• 1 eighth of a barrel of grains
• 3 pounds of dry fish
• 2 barrels of salted fish
• 4 pounds of salt
• 85 candles
• 30 [horse]loads of hay

In today's dimensions, it should be converted into approximately as follows:

• 250 breads
• 396 baskets of beer each of 24 bottles
• 220 packets of butter
• 119 kg of fat
• 204 kg of meat
• 5 young bulls
• 20 sheep
• 2 geese
• 44 chicken
• 110 liters of peas
• 41 liters of grains
• 26 kg of dry fish
• 250 liters of salted fish
• 34 kg of salt
• 85 candles
• 6 [tractor]loads of hay

There is no longer any more buildings left from the 1500's. The oldest building around is the cellar from the 1600's which is also the oldest building in the whole city of Nokia. The cache is located next to a small creek, which apparenly did flow there already before the first inhabitants. Since 1977 the local heritage association, Siuro-Seura, has ruled Knuutila mayor which is owned by town of Nokia. Knuutila now serves as a fest and meeting space, and there is possibility to accommodate in a shed hotel.
