Geocache Description:

Hartlebury Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is the largest and most important area of heathland in Worcestershire, containing many rare plants and animals and offers reasonably easy walking conditions at all times of the year. Please be aware that cows are currently being used to control vegetation, they are however extremely placid in nature.

The cache only contains A log book byo pencil. It is placed within the boundaries of the Hillditch Pool and Coppice area with the full knowledge and permission of Worcestershire County Council Countryside Service. Although there are obvious paths leading to the Coppice, these may be muddy, so suitable footwear is advised. The narrowness of some sections probably means it is not suitable for buggies and because of the stream passing through the lower levels, children should be supervised. The cache is located near but not immediately adjacent to a path. The reserve is populated by many wildlife species- squirrels, bats and birds including kingfishers. There is parking close by at The Poollands end of Hartlebury Common. The cache can be included in a marked circular route around Hillditch Pool, Coppice and paths around Titton Lane. (The full circuit passes some areas of unfenced pools near the old mill opposite Hartlebuy Castle Pool and also a short stretch of road with no pavement , so care should be taken). The walk can be extended to include walks on Hartlebury Common. If you are intending to try to find Hillditch 2 there is an obvious pathway, BUT at some point you will need to negotiate a set of steps so that you follow the path on an upper level, above the wet land. The steps are wooden and may be leaf covered but they are the best approach!
