A micro cache in the woods...everyone's favorite!
This cache is a replacement for a former, nearby cache named "Parked in the Woods". The namesake truck cabs that were parked in the woods have succumbed to nature / park visitor destruction and no longer really look much like ancient auto parts. While doing a maintenance run on the former cache, it seemed appropriate to retire that cache and start a new one.
Yes, it is still a bison tube in the woods but is only 40 feet or so from the trail. Unlike its predecessor, it is well hidden from view.
The best way to get close to this cache is to hike a portion of the Lake Trail. It is a moderate trail, but be aware that this cache takes some physical effort. The hike into the cache area is short half mile from the trail head at Lookout Lake. Flip flops and other soft shoes will get you there, but are not a great idea for this trail. There are very little undergrowth or briars in these woods and almost no poison ivy in the park, but as always "be careful".
