Geocache Description:

In February of 2009, my two daughters and I visited London, Rome, Venice and Paris. This cache is dedicated to Paris.

The most exciting feeling I had was when we were coming into town from the airport in the evening and looming right in front of us was the Eiffel Tower all lit up! It was awe-inspiring! the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the Paris Universal Exposition. It is amazing to go to the top and look all around Paris.

We also saw Notre-Dame Cathedral which is over 800 years old. The Grand Louvre is amazing with a a glass cover over it. We saw the Mona Lisa (the girl has her own wall) and Nepoleon Bonepart's apartment (short bed.) Also saw Sacre'Ceur, a bascillica (church) and an open-air art show.

In the neighborhoods, there are large, round, green metal things which people drop their used wine bottles in. Also, the pastry shops are scrumptuous !!! We again learned a little French to say a few things. French people don't like English people from England (old politics).

Our hotel was by a restaurant/bar and on Valentine's night, there was a party. Our cubby-hole hotel room was so warm, we had to have the windows open for air. Let me tell you, those Frenchies sure do like to sing when they are drunk!

The next morning, we left Paris to return to London. It took two hours to go through security, and I got stopped! My daughters had put some glass winestoppers from Venice in my carry-on and they looked like daggers. I had to unwrap everything while this big French woman is yelling at me in French! Again I am late and running to catch the plane with my shoes untied......

I tried to geocache in Paris, but was unsuccessful. I was 200 feet away from one, but it was at night and we were tired and none of us wanted to walk down that very, dark alley.

This cache is a replacement for "Paris Adventures" which kept disappearing. The owner of this property, Rose, gave permission to hide this cache. Please return it to it's special hiding place. Have fun with your quest !

Congratulations to Jynjur on FTF !!!
