Geocache Description:

Located in a mountainous area just outside the tiny town of Mountain Springs, Nevada. This cache is not very far off of Hwy 160 (Blue Diamond Road) and is a nice, easy drive out of Las Vegas. Once you find the trail I would suggest hiking up unless you have a 4x4 with clearance. Once you arrive, take a moment to enjoy the view. It would be cool if you would take a photo of yourself and post it with your online log entry. ROCK ON!

To celebrate our first series of caches, we decided to dedicate them to three of our favorite American rock heroes. This "Rock Box" is first of three, featuring Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia. Second will be Janis Joplin and last will be Jim Morrison.

The cache is a standard ammo can with a "Steal Your Face" decal and a big JG sticker. Inside, you'll find many many goodies, including two geocoins, a copy of the Worst Case Scenario Handbook, nag champa incense, monkey pen, Simpsons playing cards, Chuck-E-Cheese tokens and a nice AA or AAA battery case. Right before we set it I added a copy of my wife's ukulele band's Christmas album, a Jersey Boys VIP pass from opening night and a small LED light. Oh, and a crap ton of stickers! Not a heck of a lot for kids, but a few items. It would be great if this could become a real Deadhead cache, with Grateful Dead and hippie-related items coming in and going out.
