York County Hikes – People play this game for a variety of reasons. For us, geocaching represents a way to explore the natural beauty hidden around us. We decided to place a series of caches that will take you to some lesser used parts of the county and will hopefully get your heart pumping at the same time. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy all of what York County has to offer!
Cache is located 50 feet off the Mason Dixon trail in a small lock and lock container. This part of the MD trail is pretty tame, but you have to get here first. Park either at Apollo County Park or at Green Branch (north). Both parking locations will provide a good hike and great views of the river. From Apollo follow the blue blazed trail - do not bushwhack.
Hike length: 2.20 round trip from Apollo
Water crossing: Three or four small streams
Terrain: Tough trail - many rocks and a steep climb
