Good Hope Fynbos: Windmill Bonus
This cache was hidden on the lower part of a beautiful fynbos trail at this interesting and well-shaded indigenous plants nursery after a maintenance mission to the original Good Hope Fynbos cache (GC1R99R) which was placed up in the rocks at its highest point. The bonus cache was placed as a further incentive to visit this lovely place.
The Good Hope Nursery was originally set up in Hout Bay over 25 years ago and moved to its current location in 1986. It is situated approximately 7km NW of the entrance to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve on the M65 Plateau Road and some 4.5km from Scarborough. It is a fine place to explore, with over 100 indigenous plants and also offers guided fynbos walks, and refreshments in a succulent garden. Kids (leads optional!) and dogs (on leads) are welcome. The nursery supplies Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Table Mountain National Park with indigenous plants. They also hold special fynbos events periodically throughout the year.
Access to the walk is free and winter opening hours are Mon-Thurs 0900-1700 Fri 0900-1600 Weekends 1000-1600. In summer opening is 30 minutes earlier.

Park at the parking area by the entrance to the nursery @ S34 13.263 E18 24.479.
Pick up a Fynbos Walk brochure with a hand-drawn map of the trail.
Walk through to the trail-head @ S34 13.257 E18 24.501 and follow the trail to the cache(s).
The cache, a small cylindrical tablet container, is hidden near a small pond and a windmill which pumps water to supply the nursery.
