Easter is celebrated throughout the world in honor of the risen
Christ. Many families attend church together, with sunrise services
being very popular. We always spent the holiday at our Isle of
Palms beach house with lots of family, friends, good food and
visits from the Easter Bunny. My father was famous for taking all 6
of us kids out to buy dyed chicks and ducklings which my mother
would then have to care for. Mom would organize the egg dying party
the night before Easter. Being the baby in the family and less
adept, I usually won the prize for the ugliest egg.
