My father was of Irish descent and St. Patrick's Day was a big deal in our household. To be sure, we celebrated Saint Patrick - his driving the snakes out of Ireland (why not SC?), and his acts of converting so many to Christianity. My father would awake singing, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling. I was expected to join in.. and did. Lots of Irish cheer would be enjoyed throughout the day and Mom's dinner of Corned Beef and Cabbage would be the crowning jewel in the day.

Do you celebrate the day?
