War Memorial #294 ~ Stourport
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The cache is a nano placed by, not on a set of wrought iron entrance gates to War Memorial Park, consisting GV of large central double gates, surmounted by decorative lintel, with ‘War Memorial Park’ in pressed metal, with the Stourport coat of arms, and the dates of the First World War. Flanking the main gate is
a pedestrian gate on each side. One of the only remnants of the
original fencing for the park remaining.
The park was created as a memorial to the 135 men from Stourport-on-Severn who lost their lives in the First World War of 1914-1918. It is sometimes referred to as the War Memorial Gardens. Possibly that was its original name.
As always the can be plenty of muggles about depending on time of day! There is plenty of car parking right by GZ and you will need a pen/pencil to sign the very tiny log! Thanks to WFDC for allowing permission to place the cache.
Have moved the cache about 1 meter 05/09/2017 as its going missing too often. Hint changed.
“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Just-us-Two know first at email@example.com so they can keep track of the memorial numbers and names to avoid any duplication.
