Geocache Description:

Do Not Use the disused Rail tracks for a short cut .

This is one of a number of caches placed in and around the village of hammerwich in staffordshire , it gets its name from the old English Hamor (by a hill) and Wic (Place). The village overlooks the old Roman Road Watling Street . The Lectocetum Roman site is a mile away in the village of Wall. The field were the Staffordshire Hoard was found in 2009 is less than a mile away .We have used small cache boxes big enough for note pad & pen + a few bits and bobs for the geokids
