Geocache Description:

Many years ago, Indiana Jones discovered the Ark of the Covenant. Soon after, the government confiscated it and hid it away. Through recently declassified files, leaked pictures, and GPS technology, I have uncovered the location of the Ark of the Covenant. It is now your mission to find it and document it before it disappears again.

The Ark was hidden in Governor Dick Park by the government with permission from the Park Board. It is hidden about .70 miles up the White Diamond Trail fom the parking lot at the ranger's station. It is hidden less than 100 feet from the trail. It is hidden in a large cave. Significant climbing and bouldering may be required in order to access this cache. Although climbing gear is not required, I recommend you bring at least two people and possibly a rope for support. Picture taking is encouraged because documenation of the Ark is fuzzy at best, but please also be respectful of the environment. The GPS signal is a little fuzzy up here as I could only ever get it to be accurate to within 30 feet so please be wary of that. This is a large cache so you should be able to see parts of it from the outside of the cave. If you get stuck in the cave, remember there is more than one entrance/escape to this cave. Please enjoy this cache and be safe. Discover the Ark of the Covenant before it disappears again.
Update: As an additional addition to the cache, you can bring ruber snakes and place them in the cave where you see fit. This is of course completely optional. I have also removed the tin pan that was present in the cave for some of your visits. Whe I discovered the cave (before the agents did) I found only two man made artifacts inside. One was this cooking kit a few people have mentioned and the other is the letters written or scratched on the wall of the cave by the low entrance. They seem to be the letters "DANGF". They may now be covered in spider webs as the ark seems to love to attract wildlife: snakes, spiders, vultures and especially mice. The tin pan seemed to disappear and reappear ever so often between my visits to the cave even before the cache was published. I think the tin may have belonged to the dead man from "Dead man's Cave" see that cache page for more details. I am probably going to use it to pan for gold and then clean it up and return it to the cave later in the spring. Also, no hunting is allowed in this park. The following are secret pictures uncovered of government officials hiding the Ark.
