Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the property of Grace United Methodist Church of Lake Mary.

Grace United Methodist Church of Lake Mary (GUMC for short) thought it would be welcoming to hide a cache on church property for all to come and find. The church is located on Country Club Road north of Lake Mary Blvd. in Lake Mary, FL. Although the cache is small, it holds enough to include a log book, some swag/booty, and writing implements if you have forgot your own.



In the fall of 1729, John Wesley and some associates at Oxford began holding meetings to discuss the Greek Testament. Over the next few months, several other interested teachers and students joined their weekly group. John Wesley himself recounted that "a young gentleman of Christ Church said, "Here is a new set of Methodists sprung up;" alluding to some ancient Physicians who were so called. The name was new and quaint; so it took immediately, and the Methodists were known all over the University. " In 1735, John and his brother Charles ventured to the colonies and did some ministerial work in Georgia. John is credited with being the father of Methodism and Charles is credited with writing over 6500 hymns, many of which are still in the Methodist Hymnal today. Permission to hide this cache on church property was granted by the Chairman of the Trustees and was provided to the cache reviewer in the publishing process. The cache is an easy one to find and is safe for individuals and families alike. A FTF prize of $1.00 awaits as well as some shiny church gifts. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SHARROWFAMILY FOR FTF!
