Geocache Description:

Duck & Hide - a nice picturesque walk along the river to a secluded bird hide, many caches along this stretch

Duck & Hide

The cache is a small Lock & Lock box.

The site is wheelchair and buggy friendly during the summer months, may be boggy during the wet months so wellies recommended.

At this secluded part of Maymeads Marsh Nature Reserve you will find a bird hide that backs onto a small pond where many species of bird can be spotted. It's here that the local Council lost one of their mechanical diggers whilst clearing the pond.

When you approach the bird hide, GZ is on your right, there's a gap in the fence/hedge where there is a small clearing, if you listen you can hear the sound of trickling water from the sluice of the pond.

Please take care to replace the cache exactly as found.

Cache placed with the kind permission of the Landscape & Biodiversity Manager, Harlow Council
