Albert's View Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

KFL200: I hadn't realized the fire had spread to this one as well. Seeing as the fence was removed a while ago there is no where suitable now to place the cache.
Thanks to all those who have visited the cache, time to go I am afraid.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near to one of my favourite places; Formby Beach.
Amazing views on a clear day, right across to North Wales.
You can get to the cache from the beach, or at very high tide, through the sand dunes at the bottom of Albert Rd.
Stay a while and enjoy the views, or take a stroll along the beach.

Nearby you will see a line of antennae overlooking the sea. The equipment is part of a system measuring sea surface currents and waves.
There are two sets of equipment, the other one is at Llanddulas, Clwyd.
Together they give a composite picture of what is physically happening on the sea surface at up to 50 miles away.
The information will ultimately be used to help with shoreline management of erosion and deposition.
This system is the only one of it's type in the UK.

Web Site

The equipment has now been moves, including the fence, so a little more searching will be required to find the cache.
