Geocache Description:

A Christmas Cache III

An event for the young and the young at heart. Last year we had snow on the ground. What surprises are in store for us this year? Come help us celebrate the holiday season! 10:00 am till ?

We have reserved Pavilion #1 at Pelahatchie Shore Park for the day. Lunch will be pot luck. Please post on your "Will Attend" log what you plan to bring. Bring your family, someone else's family, your favorite dish and beverage, and be ready to have a good time swapping caching stories, TB's, geocoins, and good cheer! There are a bunch of good caches in the immediate area, so the pavilion will serve as a great central headquarters for those wanting to go out on small cache runs and return to the event for re-fueling and fellowship. If anyone out there has a boat with a motor and is able, there are several hydro or island caches nearby that can only be reached by boat (or swimming if you are BassAngler). The pavilion is equipped with a fireplace, and we plan to keep a yule log burning, so bring some marshmallows for roasting or be ready to make s’mores for the kiddies (small and big).

********** PLEASE NOTE **********

Activities include lunch, geocaching, swapping TB’s and geocoins, and lots of fellowship. Door prizes will be awarded. MSGA shirts, caps, and patches will be available for purchase. Several geocoin collections will be on display for your perusal and icon harvesting. This is a great opportunity for major milestone awards to be presented, so if you have reached a milestone or are very close, or plan to award one to someone else, please let us know.

Finally, we plan to have a couple of fun cache runs, one during the day, and one at night. The day run will feature some of the excellent Eskimo caches in the nearby woods that have not received much attention but can require some effort to get to. The night run is still in the air at this time. If you have any ideas/wants for either, please let us know.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and we look forward to a big crowd and a great event. If you are a beginning geocacher, this is a great way to make new friends and hone your skills by caching with other experienced geocachers. If you are a salty veteran, you know that this is a great way to renew friendships, relax and swap TB's, caching stories and adventures. For everyone it is a chance to add some more icons to your personal profile, make new friends, and have a great day geocaching.

More to come later, so keep checking back for the latest
info.
