Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed with full permission and assistance from the great staff at the Hope Visitor Centre.

Welcome to Hope, BC!

Hope is strategically located at the junction of Hwy 1, 3, 5 and 7 at the confluence of the Fraser and Coquihalla Rivers where the Fraser Valley and Fraser Canyon meet. The area is thus blessed with easily accessible mountainous terrain as well as lakes and rivers that offer outdoor activites that range from camping, hiking, fishing, golf, river rafting, soaring and mountain biking to boating, gold-panning, rockhounding and winter sports (Nordic and downhill skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in nearby Manning Park).

Visitors to the area will also enjoy attractions that include the large downtown wood sculptures that make Hope the Chainsaw Carving Capital; the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park (featuring the spactacular Othello-Quintette Tunnels of the abandoned Kettle Valley Railway); the Hope slide; various museums/art galleries; and Hell's Gate.

Hope Visitor Centre & Museum Complex

The visitor centre is your one stop shop for everything Hope. Their professionally trained visitor information counselors can help you with anything from local activities, attractions and accommodations to highway routes, hiking trails and anything else that might interest you about Hope. You'll also find souvenirs, a "First Blood" Rambo display, postcards, local made gifts and more.

The Hope Museum shows the history, culture and heritage of Hope. Many Exhibits including First Nations culture, early Fort Hope, the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush, the Kettle Valley Railway, pioneer life, logging, and mining.
