Welcome to Hope, BC!
Hope is strategically located at the junction of Hwy 1, 3, 5 and
7 at the confluence of the Fraser and Coquihalla Rivers where the
Fraser Valley and Fraser Canyon meet. The area is thus blessed with
easily accessible mountainous terrain as well as lakes and rivers
that offer outdoor activites that range from camping, hiking,
fishing, golf, river rafting, soaring and mountain biking to
boating, gold-panning, rockhounding and winter sports (Nordic and
downhill skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in nearby Manning
Park).
Visitors to the area will also enjoy attractions that include
the large downtown wood sculptures that make Hope the Chainsaw
Carving Capital; the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park (featuring
the spactacular Othello-Quintette Tunnels of the abandoned Kettle
Valley Railway); the Hope slide; various museums/art galleries; and
Hell's Gate.
