The original church of St Michaels stood on the nearby Skirrid
mountain also known as Holy Mountain. Evidence of this can still be
seen at the top which is well worth the walk (and a chance to bag
Skirrid Fawr).
The present church dates from the 12th century and has many
interesting features. In the 1970's the roof of the church became
unsafe and for many years the church only had half a roof. As a
child, the church as I remember it consisted of the roofed area,
the nave, extending from the eastern end to about half way along.
There was then effectively a courtyard between the nave and the
tower which was entered as you passed through the porch. As a child
I remember seemingly endless years of local fundraising to restore
the roof, and thanks to the Big Lottery Fund in 2001 it was finally
able to be completed.
The coordinates above are for the main gate of the church yard.

To find the final cache coordinates:
(solve parts inside brackets first. / = divide)
a = (Q4 + Q5) - Q1
b = Q3 - (2 x Q2)
c = Q3 - (2 x Q5) - Q2
d = (Q3 + Q2) - (Q5 x Q5)
e = (Q4 - Q3) / Q5
f = (3 x Q5) - Q2
g = (Q3 / 5) - (Q1 - Q4)
h = Q1 - Q4
Final coordinates:
