Ponderosa Pine Challenge Mystery Cache
retiredprof: In light of geocaching's recent changes to the publishing rules, I am archiving all 150 of my challenge caches. I am a retired psychology professor, not a computer programmer. I am simply unable to comply with the new geochecker rules. I am sad that I have to do this. For those who have already begun any of my challenge caches, please note that you can still log archived caches. If you have any problems with this decision, please contact the geocaching authorities so that your suggestions may be considered.

The cache is hidden along Hwy 70 about 8 or 9 miles N of Marysville. Don't park on the Hwy, but turn onto the side street about 25 yards N of the cache. In order to log this cache you must find 25 pine tree caches, as explained below. And, you should be able to guess what type of tree it is hidden in...
**********LOGGING REQUIREMENTS**********
The Ponderosa Pine is common to the western US. It has distinctive orange-ish bark (with black lining the crevices), long needles that grow in tufts of three, and has been known to grow up to 227 feet with a girth of 294 inches. Your job is to find 25 caches with the word "Ponderosa" or the word "pine" in the title. You must have at least 5 finds of the Ponderosa variety. There is no time limit involved, you may already have found them. When logging this cache, list your requisite caches as shown below. And, feel free in your log to share your experience or opinion about these trees. Personally, I enjoy hiking in the Sierras among these beauties...
