The cache is not at the published coordinates,
but there is an interesting story to read there.
There are many pubs in Devizes and several that have now gone - either demolished or reused for other purposes. This tour of the town takes you to all those named after animals, including one that is now closed.
Back in the 1930s the licensee at Stage 9 was Chris's grandfather.
The route is all on public roads or paths. The last 120 yards or so to the cache looks as if it might be a private road, but it isn't.
Unfortunately the sign at Stage 9 has been removed. This used to be The White Lion Inn and was then the place used to train licencees for Wadworths. We don't know what use it has now.

Answer all the questions about the animals themselves, not what you might see on the pub signs. Then crunch all the numbers and find the cache which is hidden at:

Free on-street parking in marked bays is available across the town, but please note that the time limit at these vary and the parking attendants are hot stuff! There is also a large pay car park - waypoint below.
We are very grateful to the previous owner of the adjacent business for permission to place this cache. He has now sold the premises and the new owners are happy for the cache to remain in place. Please respect the area.

please come clean and say that you are geocaching and that you have permission to be there.
We don't want this cache to be compromised by suspicious looking behaviour.
