This cache is located on a stretch of disused railway which has since become a popular path for dog walkers. The site of the nearby industrial units was previously a fuel supply depot during the 2nd World War. The Bottesford Junction cache, further up the line, contains more information about this.
The railway line was pulled up in the 1980s but was formerly the north/south route between Leicester and Newark. After finding the cache you can continue south along the line if you wish. You will eventually reach the A52, so cross with care, but just the other side of the road you'll find a small field with some curious and noisy pigs.
The path is now little more than a dirt track. It can get a bit overgrown at times but it's currently reasonably accessible with a half-decent stroller. It becomes a lot more overgrown and difficult further down the track though, should you wish to continue south.
Parking is available at the additional waypoint below. There's room for a couple of cars there. If you can't park there, you can park in either of the industrial areas or on the side of the road within the village. Please do not park on Orston Lane as this is often used for farm traffic and some lorries. Also please do not drive down the track towards the Bottesford Junction cache.
The cache is safe to retrieve without putting yourself in danger. Don't go swimming for it!!
Good luck, and happy caching!
