Geocache Description:

The first cache in a couple of caches placed along my weekendly cycle route! There will be more out soon, along with a bonus cache for completing the series. I will gradually add to this series over the coming weeks. THIS CACHE MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN WINTER - See my profile for details.

My Route

The route I take starts at my Master-Multi 2 (GC2GC3R) on Glamis Avenue and you head up the street, take the first right (1) turn and head towards the Ayr Road. When you get here, turn left (2), cross the road and then it's the first right past the bus stop (3). This is Fruin Avenue. Follow this until you get to the junction at Capelrig Road (4). There is a wee enclave there leading to the cache The Standing Dead by andrew28 (GC251DA). Now continue and take a right and continue past the school. Keep going and go through the first roundabout (5), then take a right at the second (6). You will now be passing Patterton Wood, where this cache is located. After bagging this cache, continue along the road Thornliebank road (7), and take a right at the roundabout (8). Now head through the Rouken Glen Park (9) all the way past the duck pond, to bring you out at Ayr Road (10) again. There are a number of caches to bag in the park and they, along with the rest, are listed further down. Cross at the lights (11) and head up the Ayr Road on the LH side. Take the first left and head along the 'Loaning' (12). Continue to the end and then turn left along Craignethan Road (13) and then to the first right up the steep Erskine Road (14). Follow this to bring you out at a set of 'crossroads' and follow Roddinghead Road (15) down past the tennis club. Take a left, and follow Broom Road until the end (16). Now turn right then a second left, and follow that down past my EagleXtreme 1 - The Death River cache. Turn left, then right, then left and finish right back where you started - Bingo!!! Wow - that was long (make sure you follow the waypoints)!!!!!

Caches Along The Route

Caches along the route so far include:

The Cache Itself

The cache is hidden in Patterton Wood, which I thought a cache would have already been placed here..........but no.

The cache is relatively small and a couple of swaps or TBs can fit inside. Please sign the log or your online log will be deleted. More caches in this series, along with a bonus cache, will be added very soon. PLEASE NOTE: I will delete short logs like 'TFTC' or 'SL TNLN' and you will not be allowed to register this as a find. Enjoy the route and caches!! :)
