High Five! (My 100th hide!) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Attention cache owner,

It has been brought to my attention that the Charles C. Deam Wilderness area now prohibits geocaching.

The land managers have requested that we archive all active caches and prohibit all new caches. If you feel that there is an error and your cache isn't on their property, please email me at Hoosierreviewer@gmail.com

Thanks,

Geocache Description:

Samthewonderdog and I were in High-Five mode on this hide. A great day, a great hike, good company, excellent scenery, and I got to make my 100th hide! Cache is an ammo can at the posted coordinates.

Wow... it seems like not that long ago when I saw that article about geocaching, and realized there was something to do with my GPSr besides not getting lost while sailing. This cache is a personel milestone. My 100th geocache hide! There have been a lot of cool destinations and a lot of interesting characters along the trail. A lot of ammo cans have been hauled into the wilderness. Some pretty wacky designs have been tried out. Some fun mods have been made to various containers with varying effect. I hope everyone has as much finding these things as I do hiding them.
Anyway, this one involves a nice ravine you'll probably be near if you're checking out the excellent "Jay Pond" cache or the nearby "Two-and-a-half Trees". The cache is a hefty .50 caliber ammo can with some trade goodies. First To Find will probably want to check out a very hefty and cool coin struck for the 75th anniversary of the opening of Clingman's Dome on the Appalachian Trail. A souvenir from a caching road trip taken with Mouse! and Capt. V last summer. Please make sure to practice safe caching techniques as this one will have you wondering if you need to be above the rocks, below the rocks, or somewhere in between. See if you can find it, and give yourself a big HIGH-FIVE!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! And a hearty MonsterCat HIGH-FIVE to the BumbleBeeBuddies on the First To Find. A couple hearty cachers I've had the pleasure of meeting a couple times! Good for you!
