A celebratory cache recognizing Birdman270’s significant milestone! The unorthodox container is located in a forest preserve that will require just a bit of time to hike to & search. There are local businesses with parking available along Woods Drive (e.g., at 9933), but depending upon the time of day (during the week) it may be challenging to find available parking. The container has a log, but no writing instrument so bring your own. There is room for only the smallest tradable items.
This cache is brought to you by the number 9! Birdman270 has been a great local cacher who always helps his fellow geocachers, places creative hides and has developed quite a following! It’s been interesting to see how the number 9 and Birdman are interconnected! Just a few interesting notes:
• If you add the numbers in his name, you’ll get the #9;
• To date, he has hidden 9 caches in total;
• He started caching in 2009;
• To date, the total number of trackables he has discovered or moved is 45 – which is divisible by 9;
• His 9th cache was “Adventure Ferret Cache #3 (The Ferret Stash Cache)” found on 2 Feb 2009 with a number in it whose square is 9;
• His 99th cache was “JAUM #11 – This One’s for You – Flydad” found on 8 April 2009;
• The rapper “Birdman” was born in 1969;
• The book “Birdman” by Mo Hayder, was published in 1999;
• The cartoon “Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law” had a total of 39 episodes;
• Brett Burton, who is a well-known Australian Football League footballer, started his career in 1999 and is nicknamed “Birdman;”
• Chris Anderson, a professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets, was part of the 1999 NBA draft and is nicknamed “Birdman:”
So, we are placing this cache in celebration of Birdman270’s 999th cache as he approaches his 1,000th (for which there are other celebration caches). You’ll be looking for a homemade cache container that follows with the theme of this cache. When found, please return as you found it and report to us any difficulties with the find (and any changes in its condition).
We’re very happy for Birdman270, are excited to participate in his celebrations and have enjoyed our caching adventures with him. Here’s to another 9,999 & more finds for Birdman270, his continued creative hides and his ongoing strong support of geocaching in the metropolitan Chicago area!
