.This one is for 4wds or bush walkers only. it is an unmaintained fire trail up the side of Mt McDonald the first 300-400mtrs is washed out you will need a high clearance 4wd and low range its not exactly hard core rock shelf type 4wding but its not easy going either for bush walkers be prepared for a steep climb.
The difficulty rating for this one is due to the fact that you have to have a bit of a look about to spot the caretaker. The whole idea is that you have to have a look to spot the cache container it's not what you would expect and is the main part of the fun in this cache ...but is very obvious and there will be no mistake once you spot it. It's not hard but if you are one of these cachers that want to walk straight up to a cache and find it immediately then give this one a miss. ...this cache is best tackled from the bottom. along the main road. pull in at the "Ta Shimmy" gateway 33.56.605 148.56.951 and either park and lock your car or lock in your hubs and select low range the track starts 20mtrs up the mount on the other side of the road. then when you get to the listed coordinates for GZ that will be on a sharp steepish left hand bend look for the large dead pine tree on the outside of the bend. the cache is within a 20mtr general area of this tree a keen eye will spot the caretaker. I cant be anymore accurate than this due to the heavily timbered area. there is something there for the FTF . a sense of humor is a must. cant wait to read the logs for this one. this trail was only opened up a year or so ago. so please stick to the track take your rubbish with you and avoid wheel spin it will only cause erosion and see this trail closed yet again. please re camo the caretaker not because I think he will be muggled but he need a home too.
