A hike up steep jeep trails gets you to an overlook with interesting rock formations.
Start your hike in the Rio Guadalupe valley where Forest Service Road 376 crosses the river on a bridge. (This is roughly 6 or 7 miles north of the Gilman tunnels.) Hike the jeep roads south on the east side of the river, taking left turns at every junction, so you continue climbing to eventually reach the top of Stable Mesa.
The cache is located by a natural arch on top of the cliffs on the west side of Stable Mesa. After finding the cache, please hide it well, as there is evidence that ATVer's visit this site. Continue your hike north along the top of the cliffs to see at least two more arches. The first is quite large and covered in grafitti. The second is smaller, looking like a mug handle almost on the edge of the cliff.
