Lucky Buckydoo
HAVE YOU SEEN A BUCKYDOO?

I have never seen a BUCKYDOO - but I have met a man who says that he has!

They are very shy creatures and don't like travelling at all. When they first landed on Planet Earth they decided to pick the best place in the whole of England in which to live. It had to be a place that had everything that anyone could ever want, so that they would never have to travel anywhere else again.

They searched and they searched and came across this beautiful area called Dorset. In Dorset they found wonderful countryside, fresh blue sea, huge yellow cliffs and wonderful food and drink. This Dorset was very much like the land that they had come from and they thought it would make a brilliant place to live. So they bounced (for they don't like walking, they like bouncing) through Dorset looking for the ideal spot in which to make their home. Up and down the rolling hills they bounced. Through little woods and flowing rivers they bounced. Little Buckydoos helped the Elder Buckydoos slowly bounce up the very steep cliffs so they could look over at the sparkling blue waters that twinkled along the yellow sand.

Then over the highest cliff they bounced and suddenly nestled in the middle of lush green fields they came across a little market town called Bridport. They waited until all was dark and quiet and then bounced into the little town. Mummy Buckydoos oohed and aahed at all the clothes shops, little Buckydoos bounced excitedly around the wonderful toyshops. Daddy Buckydoos and the Elder Buckydoos saw how many cake shops Bridport had and that was the end of the Buckydoos' search for the perfect town. Bridport had lots of shops, long wide streets, friendly people, lots of places to eat and drink. It was the best place on the Planet Earth.

BUT BEST OF ALL a little square in which they could all live. BUCKYDOOs love living in squares because they can hide in the corners when they hear people approaching.

So they all moved into the little square in the centre of Bridport in Dorset and have lived there happily ever since.

The best time to see a BUCKYDOO is just before the sun rises above the cliffs at West Bay. At this time you are most likely to see them bouncing around the square because they have to try and bounce off the calories from all the cakes they eat!

They say that seeing a BUCKYDOO brings the person who sees them lots of luck, BUCKY LUCK. But ... only if you never tell a living soul that you have seen one of them.

So we will never know if this is true or not - but I believe it is true!

If you see one try to take a pic of it and post it if your brave enough!
