Pecan Grove Trail #6: Silly Bandz Central Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Texas Freeze Clan: It is with true sadness that I type this message. I am going to have to remove the Pecan Grove Trail series. It was a good run while it lasted, but it seems that someone out here in the area, likes to steal my containers. So thanks to a THEIF - the series has come to an end.

Apologies to those who came out and looked for these after someone stole them, I wish there weren't bad people out here that like to ruin our fun. I look forward to placing more out in this area at some time in the future.

Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches that I placed along a hike/bike trail that runs alongside several Pecan Grove subdivisions. It starts off in a park called Pitts Park, winds beside another neighborhood park, behind several strip centers, next to the Pecan Grove Country Club and ends in another neighborhood park called Belin Park (home of the Pecan Grove Gators). I have provided an area to park, it is at the start of the series in Pitts Park. I am sure with the use of google maps you can find a closer spot to park if you are going for just a single cache, so you are on your own there. If you park in Pitts Park, it is generally open from dawn to dusk. If you decide to park and walk the series it will be just shy of a 2 mile hike (round trip). I plan on adding more caches along the second part of the trail going up to Belin Park here in the near future. Oh and in case you didn’t know this - the Ranch across the street from Pitts Park is called Top 40 and is owned by the drummer of ZZ Top! So be sure to wave hi to Frank Beard!

I have rated each of these a 2.5 terrain because the hike/bike trail is elevated and you will have to walk up and down the slopes and depending on how the weather has been, it could be quite difficult at times. I have also given each one of these at minimum of a 2 rating for difficulty simply because there could be muggles around at anytime. I tried my best not to be too evil on the hides but I had to make sure that they blended into their surroundings. Please feel free to ask me at anytime for a hint if you get stuck, I will be glad to help out. Keep in mind that there could be little critters (some with legs and others without) along with some poison plants in the area of some of these caches. The grass is normally kept pretty short- but a few of these caches backup to farm land so anything is possible.

About this cache – Please be careful @ GZ, the slope here is pretty steep. The youngest of the Freeze Clan have wanted a silly bandz cache put out for a long time, so here it is! Coords should get you within 5 feet or so. Once you get to GZ you will know where to look, its a prety straight forward hide, can you find it? Cache will hold some small trade items, I have placed a few items in there (hence the name of the cache) and the FTF prize is the log baggie! Please replace it as you found it or better to help prolong its life there and beware of muggles!

*** Congrats to Mr & Mrs Kianlo for FTF! ***

*** 04/10/2011 - A few weeks back this cache was stolen. I have replaced it and it is ready to be found again. If for some reason it goes missing again, I will have to rethink my hiding strategy. Please place back exactly how you found it. Enjoy!
