Geocache Description:

This is one of my favorite bronze sculptures in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Created in 1990, "The Valentine" by George Lundeen is #2 in a series of 21. It is located on the corner of 6th and Lincoln. George Lundeen is from Holdrege, Nebraska but now resides in Loveland, Colorado where he established his studio in the mid 1970's. His education began at Hastings College in Nebraska followed by the University of Illinos where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree. Mr. Lundeen was also a Fulbright-Hayes Scholar and did post graduate work at the Academia de Belle Arte in Florence, Italy. George Lundeen has won many awards and honors and has numerous commissions to his credit. Now the cache.... Be careful since this spot is popular and you can be easily muggled. Have a seat and get to know these two friendly faces. I think the experienced cacher won't find this one too difficult. Lot's of people like to get their picture taken with this couple. There is room on both sides of their bench for a good photo opportunity. Please put the cache back exactly as you found it. Bring your own pen.
