Geocache Description:

The red shouldered hawk is a medium size raptor standing 17-24 inches high with a wingspan of 38- 42 inches.

A common forest-dwelling hawk of Florida, the Red-shouldered Hawk favors woodlands near water. It is perhaps the most vocal American hawk.

The dead branch of a tree is a favorite roosting spot for many hawks.

You are looking for a camoed micro, the size of a match container but thinner. When we hid the cache in October, there was knee deep water on the trail. Count on getting your feet wet and muddy.

This cache has been placed with permission from the CREW Trust and the South Florida Water Management District,
