Geocache Description:

Three stage multi-cache with two hides. As of 11/28/10 a set of car keys belonging to Mobywv was lost during the search for Stage 2. Anyone who comes across keys please contact either me of Mobywv. If you are not from the area, please leave them in the final stage so either of us can collect them. Thanks.

This is a three stage multi-cache beginning at Freedom Park (located off the Prince William Parkway). Parking for all stages is plentiful normally, but if a baseball game is in town you might want to wait for a more peaceful time to search for this one. The coordinates provided will take you to Stage 1, a public memorial. There you need to gather clues to take you to the second stage. Once at Stage 2 you will be need to find a cache which contains the last three digits in the N & W GPS readings for the final stage (Stage 3). Note: The first four digits in both N & W readings will be the same in both Stage 2 and Stage 3. Be advised that Stage 1 is located at a memorial to a tragic event. There is nothing hidden on the memorial grounds. This site was chosen as Stage 1 to introduce cachers to a very nice public memorial that even people who live in the area do not realize exists. Be advised if you are bringing small children that there are plaques and engravings at this memorial which detail the events of 9/11. The clues derived from the memorial have been selected so that with parental assistance children can find them without having to read through any unpleasant facts. Once at Stage 1 proceed to the fountain and note the following; Number of small brown light poles encircling the fountain = AB Number of sides on fountain = C Number of columns of water in fountain = D Number of benches surrounding the fountain = E Number of stones from the Pentagon at the memorial = F Next head out from the Fountain area and find the dedication plaque for the park and the Roll of Honor. Note the following; Month on which the park was dedicated = G Number of wars listed on the Roll of Honor = H Stage 2 can be found at the following coordinates; N 38 41. A B (D+C-G) W 077 21. F E H You can check your answers for Stage 2 on this multi at; http://www.geochecker.com/index.php?code=90af035525823e3cffdeeee7b14adb99&action=check&wp=4743324a325059&name=5068726565646f6d204d756c7469&f=cf265f60a70614c5e841eb23f4eaf11c Once you find the cache at Stage 2 plug in the supplied coordinates for the last three digits for both the N & W GPS readings. The two hidden caches are placed on Prince William County Park land with permission of the Park Authority. Great trouble was gone through to ensure that the cacher never needs to leave the Park grounds during the hunt. After finding Stage 2 and Stage 3 do not wander off any deeper into the woods for sightseeing. Within a few hundred yards private property begins both N and W of the park borders. Also, as in all other PWC Parks, no night caching. Be aware that the Prince William Police Department has a station adjacent to the Park. Police don’t patrol the park, but they are its neighbors. In the event you are approached by an officer of the law, don’t be coy or cagey. Just explain that you are Geocaching, and that the caches were placed with Park Authority permission. If you are approached after dark you are breaking the law being there.
