Congratulations to Squirrel N Turtle for the FTF.
New York – Pennsylvania border The survey of the 42nd parallel north was carried out in 1785-6 and accepted by the two states in 1787. Surveying technique was not so good, so that this boundary wanders around on both sides of the true parallel. I found this interesting and thought I'd share it with a geocache placed on the Forty Second Parallel, about 150' north of the border marker. I made the terrain a 2 as it is on the side of a 55 Mph. road- there is adequate space to pull off the road on a paved shoulder. Small cash prize for the FTF, equivalent to the difficulty of the hide.
