Geocache Description:

Located on the Cypress Dome area of the CREW Land Trust

DESCRIPTION
Box Turtles (Terrapene carolina) are usually seen
early in the day, or after rain. They often go to swampy areas
during the hot summer months. They eat slugs, earthworms, wild
strawberries, and mushrooms - some of which are poisonous to
humans. They get their name from a hinge on the plastron, the
bottom part of the shell, that can fold in and effectively protect
the head and tail end of the reptile as if it were in a
fortress.
