For a fun adventure to a fabulous view, be a roadrunner. Roadrunner definition – 1. The Beep Beep Bird who always outwits Wile E. Coyote. 2. A real bird of the American southwest that can run up to 20 mph. 3. An awesome geocaching team whose caching adventures border on the extreme. This cache is dedicated to that top-notch geocaching team, who gave us a decon container at a 10-10-10 Event. The container was stolen before the cache was even submitted for publication.
As of 9-18-11, we've replaced the container for a second time! It is now an altoids tin.
From Hwy 87 north of Payson, go east on FR64 (Control Road) to FR322. FR322 is a 4WD dirt road. It is not a road for the family sedan. We do not recommend driving it when snowy or muddy. Also, beware of the deep ruts in the road the first 500 feet.
For those who wish to walk, parking is available at the junction of FR64 & FR322. Waypoint: N 34° 21.683 W 111° 24.655. The trek to the cache from this waypoint is just over one mile. The terrain rating is based on walking to the cache.
Please help keep our forests beautiful by practicing “leave no trace” and “CITO.”
