Well, we haven't actually seen trolls, but we're pretty sure they come out after dark.
Under an abandoned railbed used by a mining company nearly a hundred years ago, at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve, one of Birmingham's best kept secrets.
This is a small container with log book. When placed it also contained a mood ring and flashlight. There's room for a small trade item or two.
You can reach this cache from either side of the mountain, but the easiest approach is from the parking area on Ruffner road (see waypoint)
